  • of contact surface with concrete.

3) Main Rules

  • Classify by orientation (horizontal/vertical/soffit/curved) and finish (ordinary/fair/controlled).
  • Measure net contact area; no deduction for small openings ≤0.4 m².
  • Repetition/striking not a measurement parameter unless specified.

4) Deductions

  • Openings >0.4 m² → deduct.

5) Special Notes

  • Beam sides, beam soffit, slab soffit, column sides, wall faces all separate.
  • Chamfers/fillets usually included with formwork (state if payable).
  • Scaffolding not included unless contract says so.

6) Example

Beam 6.0×0.3×0.5 m:

  • Sides area = 2 × (6.0 × 0.5) = 6.0 m²
  • Soffit (bottom) area = 6.0 × 0.3 = 1.8 m²
Total = 7.8 m² (measured separately as sides & soffit).

📘 IS 1200 – Part 7: Flooring, Dado, Skirting (Stone/Tiles/Terrazzo)

  • Skirting/dado: height stated; corners, mouldings extra.
  • Grooves/nosings measured separately if specified.
