Scope:
Deals with measurement of steel reinforcement used in RCC and prestressed concrete.
Unit of Measurement:
- Kilogram (kg) or Tonne (t) → for reinforcement steel.
- Running metre (RM) → for binding wire, stirrups, chairs (if specified separately).
Classification:
- By type of steel: mild steel, HYSD bars, TMT bars, prestressing strands.
- By use:
- Main reinforcement.
- Distribution bars.
- Stirrups, ties, spirals.
- Chairs, spacers, hangers.
Special Notes:
- Length measured before bending.
- Standard co-efficient used for hooks, bends, cranks, lap lengths.
- Wastage, binding wire included in rates.
- Chairs, spacer bars measured separately only if specified.
