Unit of Measurement:
- Cubic metre (m³) → for timber in frames, beams, posts.
- Square metre (m²) → for shutters, paneling, boarding, flooring.
- Running metre (RM) → for handrails, beads, mouldings.
- Number (No.) → for furniture, cupboards, benches, etc.
Classification:
- By type of timber: hardwood, softwood, teak, sal, deodar, etc.
- By item category:
- Frames (chowkats, posts, beams).
- Shutters (panelled, glazed, flush, veneered).
- Flooring, ceiling boards, partitions.
- Furniture (cupboards, benches, counters).
Special Notes:
- Measurement is finished size of work, not raw timber.
- Small notches, rebates, chamfers ignored.
- Fixtures & fastenings (hinges, screws, nails) included in rate.
Wastage allowed in rates (not measured separately).
