Unit of Measurement:
- m³ for structural woodwork (trusses, beams, posts, joists).
- m² for shutters, partitions, paneling.
- Running metres for handrails, beads, battens.
- Number (No.) for doors/windows if measured per unit.
Classification:
- By timber type: teak, sal, pine, plywood, particle board, MDF.
- By item type:
- Structural wood (joists, beams, rafters).
- Joinery items (frames, shutters, partitions, cupboards).
- By finish: painted, polished, veneered, laminated.
Deductions:
- No deductions for holes ≤0.05 m².
- Bigger openings → deducted.
Special Notes:
- Frames measured overall length × breadth × thickness.
- Joints, mouldings, rebates → included in measurement.
- Metal fittings like hinges, locks, handles measured separately.
